St. Ingberter Solidarity Run, 8th & 9th September 2018
4 hours – 500 rounds: In the solidarity run, VOIT runners made 300 euros for a childcare center in Brazil.
On the first weekend in September, more than 1,500 runners of which 23 were VOITians, ran their rounds in the 24 hour solidarity run under top conditions. The proceeds of this annual charity event go to a childcare center in Brazil in 2018. (https://solilauf.org)
Our VOIT runners achieved a fantastic result! The whole VOIT team covered 1,294 rounds, ergo 508.5 km:
walkers, who walked side by side for many hours and kilometres – solidarity runners who contributed to the team result with their families – relay runners who always had one runner on the track over the 24 hours.
After the very close duel with the HiOrg Server Team, the 24h VOIT relay team achieved 5th place out of 21 with 523 rounds and over 205 km with only one round difference. Those who were there can vouch for the fact that we had lots of fun. But what is more important is the result that was achieved for a good cause: over 3,000 euros were attained together by the running team, their sponsors and the employees at VOIT Automotive!
Our top runners were our “new pensioner” and walker Nickel on 2nd place in his age group. Josef was 6th out of 110, Ursel 6th out of 88 and Sonja 10th out of 111. We would like to extend our special thanks to the night runners Joachim (3 hours) and Susanne (2 hours) who doggedly ran through the difficult hours after midnight and before dawn. And of course to the walkers, runners, relay runners and their families who invested their time and energy in this great event! A great sporting performance and a great result: 3,000 euros for a good cause.
