VOIT is a platin sponsor of the evolution racing team at the Saarland University of Applied Sciences and Saarland University

In Formula Student, international teams compete against each other with racing cars they have constructed themselves.

For more than 20 years, in an international design competition, students have been learning how to build a single-seater monoposto themselves in interdisciplinary work. First in the USA as formula SAE and later also as Formula Student, competitions have been held since 2006 under comparable conditions worldwide. Since 2006, there has also been a competition in the automotive country of Germany. Under the name of “Formula Student Germany”, students supplement their university education with practice-orientated qualifications.

4L Trophy: 1,350 R4s on a charity tour in the Marrakech desert

Adventure meets humanitarian aid: VOIT supports automotive projects by students such as the racing team of DFHI/ ISFATES – the German-French institution of further education at the University of Applied Sciences, Saarbrücken. Based on the Paris-Dakar rally, the team participated in the legendary humanitarian rally “Renault 4L Trophy”. The racing machine was a 23 year old R4. 1,350 teams were on tour in order to transport 50 kgs of school material each from Paris to Marrakesh between 13th and 23rd February covering around 8,000 km of which more than 2,000 km were through the desert. This required a large amount of own initiative from the racing team: sponsors had to be found in order to purchase the car, the R4 had to be made suitable for the desert and various activities (raffle, cake sales, winter barbecue party…) to finance the repairs and the fuel.

A highlight in Germany: On 4.12.12, the drivers Pierre & Pascal Hoffmann were able to present the problems of Moroccan school pupils to the primary school in Nalbach where they had some surprising experiences and were able to take away a large amount of school material which the children had worked hard to collect for Saint Martin’s day. A highlight in Marrakesh: over 67,000 kg of school rucksacks and writing materials… found their dusty way to Moroccan school pupils. A great effort!
